Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and ensure a 10-inch tube pan is ungreased.
  2. Combine cake flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, and a pinch of salt in a mixing bowl. Sift twice.
  3. Beat egg whites until foamy, add cream of tartar, and beat until soft peaks form.
  4. Gradually incorporate remaining sugar, one tablespoon at a time, beating until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold in strawberry extract and food coloring until evenly mixed.
  6. Sift one-third of the flour mixture over the egg whites and fold in gently. Repeat until all flour is incorporated.
  7. Spoon batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 35-40 minutes till golden.
  8. Cool the cake upside down for at least 1 hour.
  9. Run a knife around the edges of the pan to release the cake and place on a serving platter.
  10. Frost as desired, optionally adding rainbow sprinkles for decoration.
