  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced; garlic powder can substitute.
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Fresh; ground ginger is a viable alternative.
For the Chicken
  • 2 lbs Chicken Thighs Bone-in, skin-on for best results.
For Garnish
  • 2 tbsp Sesame Seeds Optional but recommended.
  • 2 stalks Green Onions Sliced for garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, honey, Chinese five-spice powder, minced garlic, and fresh ginger. Whisk until blended.
  2. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are coated evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade and arrange on the baking sheet. Dispose of the leftover marinade safely.
  5. Roast the chicken for 45-55 minutes, basting every 15 minutes with reserved marinade.
  6. Let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes after cooking.
  7. Slice the chicken and serve warm, garnished with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
