Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Slice the chicken sausage into bite-sized pieces and add them to the pan. Sauté for about 3–4 minutes until golden and slightly crispy. Remove sausage and set aside, keeping the oil in the skillet.
  2. In the same skillet, add diced red onion and cook for roughly 3 minutes until softened and translucent.
  3. Add minced garlic and stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Incorporate the orzo, stirring to coat with the mixture. Toast the orzo for about 1–2 minutes.
  5. Pour in chicken broth, bring to a gentle simmer, and cook for about 8–10 minutes until orzo is al dente.
  6. Add cooked chicken sausage and broccoli florets back into the skillet. Cover and steam for 3–4 minutes.
  7. Season with salt and pepper. Optionally, sprinkle parsley or Parmesan on top before serving.
