  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced, fresh garlic is key for optimal flavor.
  • 1 small Yellow Onion Finely diced; shallots can be a milder substitute.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Half-and-half can be used for a lighter sauce.
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese Freshly grated for the best texture.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning Consider using individual dried herbs.
  • to taste Salt and Pepper Essential for flavor enhancement.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes Optional, omit if you prefer no spice.

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Skillet

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil over high heat. Add the linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 9-11 minutes. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and diced onion, sautéing for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and the onion is translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for about 6-8 minutes until the beef is browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring gently. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer for about 2-3 minutes. Gradually mix in the Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes (if using), stirring until melted and thickened, about 4-5 minutes.
  5. Add the drained linguine directly into the skillet, tossing with the sauce until evenly coated. Adjust the sauce's thickness with reserved pasta water as needed.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with parsley or thyme. Serve immediately, with extra Parmesan on the side.
