- Sauté 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 pound of lean ground beef and cook for 3-5 minutes, crumbling until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add 1 small diced onion to the skillet. Sauté until translucent, about 2-3 minutes. Stir in 2 minced garlic cloves and cook for another minute.
- Sprinkle in 2 tablespoons taco seasoning and add 1/2 cup of water or beer. Add hot sauce to taste and cook for 2-3 minutes until well blended.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly oil a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
- Arrange 12 taco shells in the baking dish and bake for 3-4 minutes until lightly golden and crispy.
