  • 2 tablespoons Taco Seasoning Use store-bought or homemade.
  • 1/2 cup Water or Beer Beer adds depth.

For the Tacos
  • 12 pieces Hard Taco Shells Choose your favorite brand.
  • 1 cup Shredded Mexican Blend Cheese Can substitute with cheddar or pepper jack.
For Serving
  • 1 cup Pico de Gallo Fresh and vibrant topping.
  • 1 Avocado For creaminess.
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream Classic taco topping.
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro Adds a refreshing note.
  • 1 cup Shredded Lettuce For crunch.
  • 2 pieces Lime Wedges For zesty flavor.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Sauté 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 pound of lean ground beef and cook for 3-5 minutes, crumbling until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add 1 small diced onion to the skillet. Sauté until translucent, about 2-3 minutes. Stir in 2 minced garlic cloves and cook for another minute.
  3. Sprinkle in 2 tablespoons taco seasoning and add 1/2 cup of water or beer. Add hot sauce to taste and cook for 2-3 minutes until well blended.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly oil a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
  5. Arrange 12 taco shells in the baking dish and bake for 3-4 minutes until lightly golden and crispy.
  6. Fill each taco shell with about 1/4 cup of beef mixture and top with 1 cup of shredded cheese.
  7. Return to the oven for 4-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve immediately with fresh toppings like pico de gallo, avocado, sour cream, cilantro, lettuce, and lime wedges.
