Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Cook the Pasta: Boil a large pot of salted water, add linguini, and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1/4 cup pasta water before draining.
  2. Sauté the Garlic: In a skillet, warm olive oil over medium heat, add garlic and sauté until fragrant and golden, about 1 minute.
  3. Create the Sauce Base: Add butter to the skillet, melt and stir until incorporated.
  4. Add Liquid Ingredients: Pour in wine or broth, lemon zest, and juice. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Season the Sauce: Add salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Gradually stir in cream and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  6. Incorporate Parmesan: Stir in grated Parmesan until melted. Adjust sauce consistency with reserved pasta water if needed.
  7. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Toss linguini into the sauce until coated, allowing it to absorb flavors for 1 minute.
