Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with olive oil.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, stirring occasionally until browned, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking until the onion is soft, about 3–4 minutes.
  4. Transfer the beef mixture to the baking dish, spreading it evenly. Layer sliced potatoes on top, seasoning with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  5. Sprinkle cheddar and Parmesan cheese over the potato layer, then pour beef broth or water around the edges.
  6. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is golden.
  8. Let the casserole rest for about 10 minutes. Garnish with parsley before serving.
