  • 1 lb Ground Chicken or Turkey Sausage Savory sausage for flavor.
  • 1 medium Yellow Onion Finely diced.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil For sautéing.
For Moistened Goodness
  • 2 cups Low-Sodium Chicken Broth For moistening the stuffing.
For the Herb Infusion
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Parsley Chopped.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Thyme Leaves
For Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Spread dried bread cubes on a baking sheet and toast for 15-20 minutes until lightly golden.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. After sausage is browned, add diced onion and sauté for another 5-7 minutes until translucent.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine sausage mixture, bread cubes, parsley, thyme, salt, pepper, chicken broth, and melted butter. Toss until evenly moistened.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Pour stuffing mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish, cover with foil, and bake for 25 minutes.
  6. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the top is golden brown and crispy.
  7. Let sit for a few minutes before serving warm.
