Step-by-Step Instructions
- Begin by heating 2 tablespoons of olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the boneless, skinless chicken for about 2 minutes on each side until they develop a lovely golden color.
- In your slow cooker, combine the diced onion, minced garlic, thyme, oregano, rosemary, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Pour in 4 cups of low-sodium chicken broth.
- Carefully place the seared chicken on top of the mixture in the slow cooker. Cover the slow cooker with its lid.
- Set your slow cooker to low and allow your Slow Cooker Parmesan Herb Chicken to cook for 4 to 5 hours.
- Once the chicken is tender, stir in 1 cup of orzo pasta. Cover the slow cooker again, and let it cook for an additional 20 to 25 minutes on high.
- After the orzo is perfectly cooked, stir in 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, ¼ to ½ cup of heavy cream, chopped parsley, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
- Spoon the creamy chicken and orzo into bowls while it's warm. Top with extra Parmesan and fresh herbs for a beautiful finish.

Notes
Searing the chicken enhances flavor, and ensure enough broth to prevent orzo from sticking. Stir the orzo halfway through cooking for perfect texture.
