Ingredients
  

For the Curry
  • 1 lb Ground Beef use lean or a mix for moisture
  • 2 medium Potatoes cubed, can substitute with sweet potatoes
  • 1 medium Onion chopped, yellow or red
  • 2 medium Tomatoes diced, canned tomatoes can be used
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced, fresh recommended
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger freshly grated, or ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon Garam Masala adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin essential for authenticity
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Coriander essential for authenticity
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric curcumin powder can be substituted
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder adjust quantity for spice preference
  • 1 teaspoon Salt season to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable Oil or ghee for richer flavor
  • 1 cup Water can use broth for enhanced flavor
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Cilantro for garnishing, can substitute with parsley

Method
 

Directions
  1. Heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté for about 5 minutes until they become translucent and slightly golden.
  2. Introduce minced garlic and freshly grated ginger to the pan, stirring for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart. Cook for approximately 7 minutes until the beef is browned.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, ground cumin, coriander, turmeric, chili powder, and garam masala. Cook for about 5 minutes.
  5. Add the cubed potatoes, salt, and about a cup of water. Stir and cover the skillet. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  6. Once the potatoes are fork-tender, remove from heat and garnish with chopped cilantro. Serve hot.
