- Heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté for about 5 minutes until they become translucent and slightly golden.
- Introduce minced garlic and freshly grated ginger to the pan, stirring for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart. Cook for approximately 7 minutes until the beef is browned.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, ground cumin, coriander, turmeric, chili powder, and garam masala. Cook for about 5 minutes.
- Add the cubed potatoes, salt, and about a cup of water. Stir and cover the skillet. Simmer for 20 minutes.
- Once the potatoes are fork-tender, remove from heat and garnish with chopped cilantro. Serve hot.
