Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mash 3 ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Combine the mashed bananas with 2 room temperature eggs and 0.5 cups of applesauce.
  4. In another bowl, mix 1.5 cups of whole wheat flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 0.5 teaspoon of baking soda, and a pinch of salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, folding gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in optional nuts if using.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
