Step-by-Step Instructions for Swiss Steak
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix together the flour, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish.
- Coat the cubed beef in the seasoned flour mixture until well-coated and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a stockpot over medium-high heat. Brown the beef in batches for 6-8 minutes and remove.
- In the same pot, sauté diced onions and carrots for 5-7 minutes until tender.
- Return the beef to the pot, add undrained tomatoes and broth, and stir in Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- Cover and bake in the oven for 2 ½ to 3 hours, stirring occasionally until the beef is tender.
- For a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water, stir into the sauce, and rest for 5 minutes.
- Serve the Swiss Steak over rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes.

Notes
Add fresh herbs during cooking for extra flavor. Ensure to brown beef well for deeper flavor and avoid overcooking the vegetables for a nice texture.
